Welcome to our service today, in which we think about the constant pressures placed on Jesus by the crowds who wanted to listen to him or be healed, and his attempts to escape and rest.

We begin with the well-loved hymn “Lord of all hopefulness” which takes us through the many daily activities of work and rest:

Our closing hymn is one which sends us out to serve God in the world: “Forth in thy name we go”. This is very much a “cathedral choir” version:
