As part of the Church’s witness and service to the community, the Local Ecumenical Partnership has taken a lease on three shops in the local shopping centre which are open five days per week. They provide nearly new clothing for sale, and also act as a drop in centre and focal point where people can gather, who perhaps in other circumstances would not enter a church building. This enterprise is staffed by volunteers from the Churches who are actively supported by all the clergy in the area. Visit the Maelfa Shop page on this website for more information, or visit Maelfa Shop's own website.
We are also in the process of strengthening our links with Grace Bible College, Jamshedpur, North East India. For further information about the College, please visite the Grace Bible College on this website or visit the College's own website.
Links with local schools
We are fortunate in Christchurch to have a number of Schools in our locality, and extremely fortunate to have very good relationships with them.
Our Minister can often be found in a number of Primary Schools, leading Assemblies, visiting classes, offering pastoral support to the Teaching and Administration Staff.
Throughout the year, we open the church doors as we welcome various classes from different schools as they come and have a look round the church, and ask questions about what we do here in Christchurch.
At the beginning of December each year, we invite the local schools to join us for Carol Aid. This is a wonderful opportunity of joining together, of listening to the school choirs sing some carols, hearing about the true meaning of Christmas, and raising money for two worthy charities, one local and one further afield.
