Grace Bible College Jamshedpur
Grace Bible College Jamshedpur began in 1981 with the sole purpose of spreading the Gospel. In spite of its humble beginnings, the institution has grown to have three main ministries: A Bible College, three children’s ministry centers, and several church plants.
The college began in rented quarters but later purchased property. Today, it accommodates four family quarters, a dormitory for 25 students, a worship hall, and room for other forms of ministry. After starting with English as its medium of instruction, it changed to Hindi because of the need of neighboring churches.
Grace Bible College Jamshedpur began its ministry among under-privileged children in 1985. Currently, this ministry serves about 130 children in a few locations. The Gospel is the primary focus, yet food and education are also provided.
Under the leadership and sponsorship of the College, 10 Baptist churches have been planted by graduates in the states of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Orissa. Most of the churches are rural and poor.

Christchurch has forged links with the Bible College and in September 2011 the Rev Cecil Peters, the College Principal was able to visit us here in Cardiff. During his stay he met with members of the congregation both informally and in more formal settings; he also preached at morning service.
We are seeking to become involved as a Church, and as individuals, in the work there.
